Problem

This patient came to our clinic to fix some dental work previously done in the US, as well as to get some work done on other teeth that weren’t treated until now.

Approach

After a complete clinical exam, x-rays, a full set of photos, and a CT Scan, we sat with the patient to hear her expectations and concerns.

We decided to remove all her upper teeth due to periodontal disease. Shape crowns and bridges were also an aesthetic concern.

Then place 6 implants to give a full set of teeth made of zirconium, Sinus lift, and bone graft. And then on the bottom, she decided to perform the veneers and restorations with her dentist back home, that way she could recover her function to chew and a great set of teeth.

Visit 1

The next day we started with surgery. We placed 6 dental implants and performed a sinus lift due to the lack of bone in the posterior right area, all the extractions, and some bone grafts.

A week later we delivered a temporary removable prosthesis so she could go home wearing temporary teeth.

Visit 2

Six months later she returned to Meza. We took impressions and bite registration to get a precise relation of the upper and lower jaws. We sent that information to the lab and discussed esthetics and functional aspects so they started to work on a 3D plastic prototype.

A couple of days later we tried the prototype in Cathie’s mouth. The prototype was screwed into the implants, we took some photos and another bite registration, then we evaluated how teeth were displayed in Cathie’s mouth, the shape and length of teeth, midline, and some other cosmetic and functional aspects.

The final structure was made on Zirconium, and it was fitted again to make sure everything was right.

End

After the esthetic try, the structure was secured with implants in the patient’s mouth. The bite was tested and final photos and x-rays were done.

The next day was the delivery, the dentist screwed the structure, tightened the screws, and the access of the screws was sealed, we took final x-rays and adjusted the bite. Cathie was thrilled with the final result.
