All-on-6 Case Study: A Fresh Start After Severe Gum Disease

The Challenge

This patient came to us already aware that she was suffering from severe gum disease. She was unhappy with the color of her teeth and the gum recessions that had developed over the years.

It is also important to note that she was a heavy smoker, which contributed significantly to her dental problems.

The Solution

After a CT scan, aesthetic photographs, a full medical and dental history, and a detailed oral examination, we determined that all her teeth were hopeless. Periodontitis had caused about 90% bone loss around her teeth. We proposed a zirconia All-on-6 treatment for both the upper and lower jaws.

First Visit

We performed extensive surgery to extract all her teeth, leveled the bone structure, and placed six implants per arch. Temporary full dentures were provided for use during the six-month healing period.

Second Visit

We took final digital impressions of her implants, created a mock-up, and tested both function and aesthetics through plastic try-ins.

Once approved by the patient, our lab fabricated the final zirconia prostheses. Within days, they were delivered and precisely adjusted.

While smoking increases risks, our specialized surgical approach and the patient’s commitment to health made this successful transformation possible!

Final Result

At her follow-up, we made final bite refinements, delivered a protective nightguard, and confirmed results with photos and X-rays.

Today, she is smiling confidently with a beautiful new smile—and motivated to quit smoking to protect the results of her treatment.
