The Problem

This 55-year-old lady from North Carolina came to us with the main concern “my teeth are too short, but I ‘am afraid to get something I don’t like and for now, I just want to make my top teeth”

The upper teeth were evidently a bit short and did need a rework to bring more harmony into the patient’s smile.

The Plan

After a full set of x-rays, a full set of photos, a couple of impressions, and a complete clinical exam, we checked photos together and she explained why she was unhappy with the size of her teeth and the way she smiles. We knew she needed to check on a mock-up before we did anything.

We suggested 12 porcelain veneers and she was happy with the proposal.

Sometimes it’s possible to shape the gums to give the illusion of longer teeth without affecting the bite.

Visit

We started a very conservative preparation, made impressions and gave her a set of temporary veneers based on the mock up. We took a new set of pictures to understand the reach and any possible changes.

A week later we had the esthetic try appointment, she was really happy about the final restorations.

Various tests were performed along the process to correct any symmetry and cosmetic deficiencies.

The Result

The next day we bonded the veneers and tested the bite. On her last day, we did a final bite adjustment, gave her a mouth guard, took x rays and final pictures. She is now super proud of her new smile
