It Takes a Village…
Modern digital dentistry can accomplish things unimaginable twenty years ago, thanks to many different aspects of dentistry, not the least of which is the skill and artistry of the team working behind the scenes.
That’s why it’s worth discussing how these incredibly talented individuals work together. Without them working hard, both directly with you and behind the scenes, your gorgeous new smile wouldn’t be possible.

Meet the Team
So, what part does each team member play in creating your smile? Let’s find out!
The Dentists
A dentist’s role may seem obvious, but our dentists go a few steps further here at Meza. Not only do they take the time to speak to you personally and discuss the particulars of your case to understand the best course of treatment fully, but they also come up with a list of different options so you can choose the best one for you and your various needs.
Once the patient arrives, the dentists are your care providers and perform treatments that include (but aren’t limited to) extractions, dental implants, fillings, root canals, the popular all-on-x procedure, veneers, bonding, and other cosmetic procedures.
It’s worth repeating: we are proud to say that our dentists are involved in your care from the consultation call to the final fitting. That kind of personal care has been the key to our growth in the industry and our reputation for first-class service.
We have three dentists;
Dr. Alberto Meza specializes in Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr. Mauricio Peña specializes in Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Jose Andres Umana specializes in Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry
And we are proud of their many accomplishments. Click on their names to learn more about their accreditation and experience.
General Manager
Now, I am the General Manager, from the most obvious job to a more ‘behind-the-scenes’ role. This is the kind of job that often goes unnoticed but is vital.
You may never see the office manager in a dental office, but they’re behind the scenes, ensuring all the minute details are taken care of so the dentists, assistants, and lab techs have all the supplies and equipment they need.
This role requires extreme attention to detail and keeping many balls in the air simultaneously, whether accounting, imports/exports, marketing, HR, or other tasks. Kudos to our office manager, Marcelo Meza; we couldn’t do it without you!
Patient Relationship Manager
As this article will show, a dental office has many moving parts, and at the center of that complex engine is the Patient Relationship Manager. Currently, this role falls to Rebeca Bianchini, the first voice you hear when you call and the first face you see when you arrive.
In many ways, she is the office’s heart and soul and another reason everything runs smoothly. From coordinating travel plans to scheduling treatments, answering questions, providing a soothing presence, or even simply making tea, everything Rebeca does is geared to making your visit and treatment as seamless and comfortable as possible.le.
Operations Manager and Office Keeper
The clinic and the lab have many moving parts—tools, X-rays, and information systems. Our Operations Manager (currently Yanick Linkimer) is in charge of ensuring that everything flows smoothly from one department to the next so everyone has what they need when needed.
Working alongside our operations manager is our office keeper (Christian Chavarria), who’s in charge of keeping Meza Dental sparkling clean, sanitary, and beautiful and helping with any tasks around the office.
Logistics
When logistics are done well, you won’t realize anything is being done. That’s why we have a support team (currently headed by Juan Ignacio Vargas) that supports our General, Office, and Patient Relationship Managers every step of the way to make sure that i’s are crossed, t’s are crossed, and every detail of your stay and treatment is scheduled and accounted for.
Dental Assistants
A dental assistant is responsible for ensuring the doctor and patient have everything they need for each patient’s visit. They ensure that everything is clean and sanitary, offer a calm smile, answer questions throughout the procedure, assist the dentist during larger procedures, and provide direct patient care through dental cleaning, visual assessments, and so much more.
They’re like quiet, smiling mind-readers who know precisely what the dentist needs and when, so your procedure goes without a hitch. That comes from years of training and in-depth knowledge of dentistry and oral health. We’re proud to have top-class dental assistants like Monica Zuniga and her growing team to fulfill that role here at Meza Dental.
Lab Technicians
In many ways, lab technicians are the artists of the team. They use a combination of technical know-how, digital finesse, and creative ability to bring the crowns, implants, dentures, and more to life in a way that improves or completely transforms your smile.
While much of this formulation work is still painstakingly done by hand (because that’s the best way to get it just right), these fantastic technicians also wrestle with a slew of complex machines to create the diagnostic casts, 3D models, and detailed titanium and zirconia pieces that help make your smile a reality!
Skills like these aren’t easy to come by. When Meza first started, we noticed an inconsistency in the lab work that local laboratories provided. That’s why we decided to take matters into our own hands and start a dedicated lab on the premises. We staff it with only the best lab techs.
Our Lab Team consists of;
- Maria Fernanda Fonseca who specializes in digital smile design, finishing, and detailing,
- Ivannia Meledez,
- Maria Jose Corrales,
- And Yorleny.
We have the utmost confidence that everything we make is of the highest quality and workmanship.
A Look at The Travel Team
Travel Coordinators
One of the things that has helped set us apart in the dental tourism industry is our dedication to helping our patients. That extends well past the dentist’s chair or even the office. Our travel coordinators are in charge of making your trip stress-free and fun!
They help you choose the best time to fly, organize transportation to and from the airport, answer all your questions about visiting the area, give restaurant recommendations, and book your excursions, so all you have to do is pack your bags and show up for a fantastic trip. Our current duo of Travel Coordinators — Hugo and Karina — are experts in finding suitable excursions for you and your family.
Dental tourism is a great way to get quality dental care for a fraction of the price, but it’s also about so much more! It’s about taking a break, getting the care you need, and simultaneously treating yourself to a vacation because self-care is essential.
The Driver
Sometimes, getting around in a new place can be stressful, especially if you don’t know your way around, speak the language, or understand the rules of the road (which, in reality, can be very different from the written laws).
That’s why we have a dedicated driver (currently the charismatic and friendly Jose Picado) to get you where you need to go. When you arrive at the airport, you’ll be greeted by a sign with your name, a friendly face in a Meza uniform, and an air-conditioned ride in the Meza Dental Van. So no matter how stressful your flight may have been (and we know in modern times they can be stressful!), you can relax as soon as you arrive.
During your stay, Jose will pick you up before and after each treatment so you can concentrate on your new smile and the beauty all around you. And if you decide to venture further afield, you can trust that all of our transfers and driving are done by our most trusted and preferred tour companies. This will give you more time to focus on fun and give you a reason to flash your new smile!
From Our Family to Yours
At Meza Dental, we consider ourselves a family working together towards a common goal of providing the very best care every time. That’s why we seek out the very best people for the job and make no compromises on the quality, passion, and kindness of our team members.
Because if you trust us with your smile, we’re dedicated to helping you shine.
