Full Mouth Case Study:

Restoration with Zirconia Implants and Crowns

The Challenge

The patient’s main concern was to restore her smile after years of failing restorations, which had led to the loss of her upper molars. She had neglected dental care due to the high cost of treatment in the United States and was seeking a long-term, functional, and aesthetic solution.

The Solution

We began with a comprehensive consultation, including a clinical examination, full dental and medical history, CT scan, and a complete set of photographs. It was determined that a full-mouth restoration was needed, combining dental implants with indirect restorations—zirconia crowns and veneers—on her remaining natural teeth.

A digital mock-up was created to visualize the ideal function and aesthetics for her specific case. Once the patient approved the proposed treatment plan, we proceeded with the first clinical visit.

First Visit

During this appointment, we removed the old restorations and prepared the teeth for crowns and veneers.

Digital impressions were taken, and temporary plastic restorations were placed based on the approved mock-up.

Together with our lab technicians, we discussed the aesthetic features according to the patient’s preferences, and the fabrication of the final zirconia restorations began.

The following day, four dental implants were placed on the upper jaw. Fortunately, bone grafting was not required due to the excellent condition of her remaining bone.

A week later, we presented the final restorations for the patient’s approval. Once she was satisfied, the restorations were delivered, and the bite was adjusted.

The next day, we completed minor adjustments, final x-rays, and a full set of photographs.

The patient then returned home for six months to allow proper osseointegration of the implants.

The Result

After six months of healing, the patient came back for her second phase. We took final impressions of the implants to begin fabricating the custom abutments and crowns.

A few days later, the implant restorations were installed, and the bite was verified and adjusted. The next day, we performed the final evaluation, x-rays, and photographs.

Today, the patient is thrilled with her new smile—she can chew comfortably, and her confidence has been completely restored.
