COSTA RICA DENTAL TOURISM

Travel to Costa Rica and discover the opportunities dental tourism offers!

Dental Tourism in Costa Rica

Dental Tourism is traveling outside of your home country to obtain dental care. While dental tourists may travel for a variety of reasons, those reasons are usually driven by cost considerations.

While cost is still a driving factor, these days, many travelers see dental tourism as an opportunity to get the healthcare they need at an affordable cost while taking advantage of their recuperation time in an exotic and desirable vacation destination.

In the case of Meza Dental Care, our patients see it as a no-brainer. They come to us for great rates on the dental work they need. They get that care from some of the best dentists in the world who have all the accreditations (if not more) than their dentists back home have. Moreover, while healing, they spend the days in a tropical paradise instead of their living rooms.

It is a win-win scenario for anyone who needs extensive dental work. However, many people have concerns about dental tourism, which we can certainly appreciate.

We would be nervous, too, if we were thinking about going to a country we have never been to for a medical procedure. It’s only natural.

That is why we have put together this section of our website. It addresses some of the most common concerns we’ve heard from our patients over the years.

And remember, you can always call us with any questions or concerns you may have. We’re here to help!

What makes Meza Dental Care the safest option?

As the cost of dental care in countries like the United States and Canada continues to rise, more and more people are looking to other countries for their dental health needs.

However, the most common question is, “Is dental tourism safe?” This is a valid question that prospective dental travelers should consider very carefully. The answer is that it depends.

The fact is that there are very talented dentists all over the world who are every bit as good as what you might find in your own country. Nevertheless, as you would at home, you must research and find the right dentist.

While many look to dentists overseas because they are a more economical option, the cost should be secondary to the dentist’s track record and qualifications. Dental tourism can be very safe if you find the right doctor in the correct country.

If you research Meza Dental Care, you will quickly learn that our dental clinic is one of the safest and most medically advanced options available anywhere in the world.

Our record speaks for itself.

  • Our four on-staff dentists have over 38 years of combined dental experience.
  • Dr. Meza is the 5th generation of dentists in his family. The Meza family name is synonymous with Dentistry in Latin America.
  • Dr. Meza received nearly five years of postgraduate training from UCLA, one of the top dental schools in the world.
  • Dr. Meza is the first accredited American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry member in Costa Rica and one of only three in Latin America.

The real question is, why wouldn't you choose Costa Rica?

With many countries marketing themselves as dental tourism destinations, why should someone choose Costa Rica? The answer is easy: Costa Rica is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

However, here’s a few more reasons for you to consider.

Quality

Costa Rica is world-renowned for its highly high medical standards and protocols. The country has a long history of being a safe, secure destination for medical tourists of all types…, including dental health, cosmetic surgery, fertility, and hormone treatments. Costa Rica’s hospitals are among Latin America’s most modern and advanced, rivaling those in the U.S. and Canada.

Cost

Costa Rica offers unparalleled value when it comes to the level of service you receive. Medical services in Costa Rica are usually less than half of what you might pay in the U.S. or Canada.

Safe

Costa Rica is arguably one of the safest countries in Latin America. Its crime rate is lower than in many major U.S. cities. Costa Rica also enjoys one of the most stable governments in the world—so stable that it has no need for an army and hasn’t had one since 1948.

People

Costa Ricans, or “Ticos,” are known to be extremely friendly and well-educated. Their literacy rate is 97.8%, and most Ticos speak fluent English.

Tropical Paradise

For over thirty years, Costa Rica has been considered one of the premier ecotourism destinations in the world. Twenty-five percent of the country comprises national parks and protected areas. In short, it is paradise on earth.

Location

Many patients choose Costa Rica as a dental destination because it is a relatively short flight away. San Jose is only a 3-hour flight from Miami International Airport.

A better value for all the right reasons!

Many people falsely assume that healthcare in Costa Rica is less expensive than in Canada or the U.S. because it’s inferior in quality. But really, nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, at Meza Dental Care, we use the same brand-name materials that dentists use in the U.S.

Here are the two main reasons we can offer such an excellent value.

The cost of the same brand of dental materials you would find at home is lower in Latin America because our economies are more diminutive. Manufacturers adjust their costs accordingly.

We can pass those savings on to our patients because fixed costs such as rent, taxes, etc., and labor costs for skilled help are lower in Costa Rica than in the U.S. or Canada.

Our process is painless…just like our dental care.

One of the most common questions is, “How does that process work?”

Here is a step-by-step explanation of what to expect when you come to Meza Dental Care for dental treatment.

Step 1: When you contact Meza Dental Care for the first time, one of our Patient Coordinators will listen to your needs and concerns. They may ask you for certain documents about your medical history, such as X-rays, past dental records, and teeth pictures.

Step 2: Once our doctors have reviewed your information, your Patient Coordinator will schedule a call between you and one of our dentists. The doctor will discuss their findings, your options, and the best way to meet your dental health goals.

Step 3: After you and the doctor have agreed on the necessary procedures, we will review the estimated costs, schedule your dental treatment plan, and assist you in arranging your travel and lodging.

Once you arrive in Costa Rica, our friendly driver, Jose, will be waiting for you at the airport, ready to take you to us and get you on your way to your new smile!
